The 30th annual Associated Ministries Hunger Walk is the largest walk for hunger in the Pacific Northwest and generates the most significant contribution to local food banks in Tacoma-Pierce County.
With the help of you and our generous sponsors, the Hunger Walk has raised more than $200,000 annually, which translates to $2.4 million annually in food distributed to hungry children, families and seniors. All funds raised benefit hunger relief in our community and abroad.
The need for hunger relief (and emergency shelter) has never been greater in our community than now. Please join us and help fight hunger one step at a time.

Pre-register online, pay your registration fee, and create a personalized donor page that you can email to friends and family to request pledges. Each donor page has its own unique URL. Once you have created your personal donor page, copy the URL that appears in your browser window, then paste it into the emails you send to all your family and friends. They can go right to your page to donate! Track your donations online and simply check-in at registration.
Pledge forms also serve as registration forms. They can be downloaded here, found in the event brochure or at any YMCA of Tacoma-Pierce County branch. Complete a pledge form, track your pledges and bring it with your registration fee and donations to the event.
Adults: $10 per person
Youth under 18: $5 per person
Teams: $5 per person
(Teams must include 3 or more people)
All walkers and runners must register to participate. If you're part of a team, indicate your team name and captain upon registration. Captains can register for their entire team, but all registration fees must be paid together, and information must be provided for each team member.

To achieve our fundraising goals, the following minimum donations (above the registration fee) are requested, however, not required to participate in the event.
Adults: Minimum of $100 in pledges
Youth: Minimum of $50 in pledges
Teams: Minimum of $50 in pledges per team member

Raise the minimum amount in pledges required to achieve our event goals and earn an official Hunger Walk long-sleeve, tee-shirt.
The Associated Ministries Hunger Walk is a fun, family event that does not include timing or placement awards.
Participants may choose from one of two walk/run routes:
• 5K (3.1 mile) path
• 10K (6.2 mile) path
Both routes begin and end in Fort Steilacoom Park, and are clearly marked along the course.

If you're unable to participate in the Hunger Walk but would still like to join in on the fun, we would love to have you or your group volunteer at the event. There are many opportunities available. Tucci & Sons, Inc. presenting sponsor of Hunger Walk, will be collecting non-perishable food items before and during the Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 3, from 1-5 pm at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood.
Drop-off any non-perishable food item(s) and get a free reusable grocery bag or baseball cap. All donated food supplies will be delivered directly to the Emergency Food Network following the walk. So don’t forget to bring a food donation on your way to Hunger Walk. See you there!
